NABARD (National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development) is an Indian development bank that oversees credit-related issues such as planning, policy, and operations for agriculture and rural enterprises.
NABARD is a non-profit organization that provides money for agricultural and rural development projects. The institution’s main focus is on the growth and development of rural communities around the country. NABARD focuses on three primary sectors in the agriculture sector: finance, development, and supervision.
NABARD Programs 2022-2022
The Scheme’s goal is to assign talented students pursuing a post-graduate degree (having completed the first year) in Agriculture and allied disciplines (Veterinary, Fisheries, etc.), Agri-business, Economics, Social Sciences, and Management from reputed Institutes/ Universities short-term tasks/projects/studies useful and relevant to NABARD.
Under the Short Term – Policy for the years 2022-22, NABARD will provide short term refinance to Small Finance Banks for a variety of objectives.
- Given the short-term credit needs of farmers, small businesses, and micro enterprises, as well as the role played by Small Finance Banks in supplying them, it has been decided to provide refinance support to Small Finance Banks for short-term loans of up to 12 months under Section 21(1) and Section 21(4) of the NABARD Act 1981.
- Short-term/working capital loans for agriculture and related sectors, a non-farm sector including artisans, weavers, handicrafts, etc. marketing of Agri produce, Agri inputs, non-farm produce, etc. genuine trade activities, etc. are among the causes for which such refinance will be sanctioned.
- Annexure I contains the NABARD’s regulating rules for short-term refinancing as well as the eligibility criteria. The policy would be maintained till further notice.
- SFBs may arrange to send their applications for ST refinancing sanction, completed in all respects, to NABARD Head Office, with a copy to NABARD Regional Office in the state where their Head Quarters is located, as per the proforma provided (Annexure-II).
