Nadu Tamil Lockdown Guidelines
On 28 May 2022, the government of Tamil Nadu stated that the lockdown imposed by COVID will be extended till 6 am on 7 June 2022.
The continuing lockdown was planned to expire on May 31, however the lockdown has been prolonged in light of escalating COVID-19 illnesses and deaths in the state.

Activity Allowed
- Ration stores 08:00 to 12:00
- Essential service, distribution of newspapers, postage and courier services
- Ambulances, funeral services, veterinary pharmacy, hospitals and diagnostic centres.
- Important departments such as secretariat offices, district collector’s offices, treasuries
- Centers on vaccination.
- Banks, ATMs, and bank-related transportation, but employing one-third of staff.
- Bunks with gasoline and diesel.
- Media, telecom, and related businesses.
- The maximum number of persons who are able to attend funerals was set at 20.
Unauthorized activity
- Unessential movement of vehicles between districts and intra-districts (including public transport).
- Venerable places.
- Places of tourism, beaches, monuments, parks, botanical gardens…
- All shops would remain closed, including the supply and grocery stores and meat vendors.
- Units of export, units which have export obligations
- Retail booze store TASMAC.
- Parlors of beauty, living rooms, and spas.
- Holiday clubs, swimming pools, all taverns, auditoriums, amusement parks, meeting places.
- Koyambedu Retail Sales and other establishments on the wholesale market.
- It would not allow all social, political, sport, recreational, educational, and cultural events to be held either indoor or outdoor.
- All private offices would stay closed, including the IT and ITES. Employees are allowed to work from home.
- Tourist hubs like the Kodaikanal and the Nilgiris.
- Camps in Summer.
- Tea shops and distributors
