World Cup 2023: Hardik Pandya has been dropped from Team India’s World Cup squad due to injury, and Prasidh Krishna has got the chance in his place. Let us know why Prasidh has got the chance?

Why did Prasidh Krishna get a chance in place of Hardik Pandya

ICC Cricket World Cup 2023:  The Indian team has suffered a big setback in the middle of the World Cup. Team India’s star all-rounder Hardik Pandya was not able to play the last three matches because he suffered an ankle injury during the Bangladesh match. Now he has been dropped from the World Cup squad, and a fast bowler, Prasidh Krishna, has been included in the team in his place. In such a situation, a question is arising in the minds of many people that why has a fast bowler been included in the team in place of all-rounder Hardik Pandya? If the same question is arising in your mind, then let us tell you the possible reasons for this.

Why did Prasidh get the chance instead of Hardik?

Hardik was recovering for the last two weeks after his injury, but his ankle got swollen again and he was not able to even move. For this reason, the BCCI selectors have decided to drop him from the World Cup. In such a situation, BCCI had options of three players in his place. The names of Sanju Samson, Prasidh Krishna, and Tilak Verma were included in these three options. Sanju Samson was an option for an additional wicketkeeper or batsman. Tilak Verma can play the role of a spin batting all-rounder, and Prasidh Krishna is a solid fast bowler.

Hardik was in the role of an all-rounder, but considering the remaining matches and current form, Team India has considered Shardul Thakur and Ravichandran Ashwin sufficient for all-rounders. Apart from him, Ishan Kishan plays the role of a left-handed batsman and wicketkeeper, so the team also does not need Sanju Samson and Tilak Verma. In such a situation, Team India needed a fast bowler according to the current conditions, and hence Prasidh Krishna has been included in the World Cup squad.
