Inzamam-ul-Haq gives funny reply to a journalist over Shadab Khan vs Kuldeep Yadav debate

Pakistan announced their 15-man squad for the ODI World Cup 2023 on Friday.

Chief selector Inzamam-ul-Haq came up with a hilarious reply to the journalist on Shadab Khan vs Kuldeep Yadav debate.

Journalist: Inzy bhai, who do you think is the better leg-spinner, Shadab Khan or Kuldeep Yadav?

Inzamam-ul-Haq: (laughing) Both are very good bowlers, but I think Kuldeep is slightly ahead at the moment. He has more experience and has bowled well in all conditions. Shadab is also a very talented bowler, but he is still young and needs to develop more consistency.

Journalist: But Inzy bhai, Shadab has a better batting record than Kuldeep.

Inzamam-ul-Haq: (smiling) Yes, that is true. But I think Kuldeep is a better bowler overall. He has more variations and can bowl both faster and slower deliveries. Shadab is also a good bowler, but he is more of a wicket-taker. He relies more on his spin and doesn’t have as much variation as Kuldeep.

Journalist: But Inzy bhai, Shadab is also a very good fielder. He has taken some amazing catches in the recent past.

Inzamam-ul-Haq: (chuckling) Yes, that is true as well. Shadab is a very good fielder. But I think Kuldeep is also a good fielder. He is not as acrobatic as Shadab, but he is very reliable. He has taken some very important catches for India in the recent past.

Journalist: So, Inzy bhai, who is your final answer? Who is the better leg-spinner, Shadab Khan or Kuldeep Yadav?

Inzamam-ul-Haq: (thinking for a moment) I think Kuldeep is slightly ahead at the moment. But Shadab is also a very talented bowler and has the potential to become even better in the future. So, let’s see what happens in the next few years.

Journalist: But Inzy bhai, today is September 23, 2023. So, who is the better leg-spinner today?

Inzamam-ul-Haq: (laughing) Today, I think the better leg-spinner is… the one who wins the match for his team.

(Inzamam then winks at the journalist and walks away.)
