Application Fee
The fee is Rs. 25 for every category, as an online processing charge. The main exam fee is separate. It is paid later, only by shortlisted candidates, before they download the main exam admit card.
Qualification
The diploma depends on the post, so please read your row in the advertisement.
- JE (Mechanical) and similar posts: a diploma in Mechanical Engineering. Exact wording differs by department.
- Mechanic: a three-year diploma in Automobile or Mechanical (Automobile) Engineering.
- Assistant Storekeeper: a polytechnic diploma in Automobile or Mechanical Engineering.
Qualifications must be held by 25 November 2026. Two years in the Territorial Army or an NCC ‘B’ certificate gives preference for several posts.
Age Limit
Rows we checked ask for 18 to 40 years, though Technical Assistant starts at 21. Reservation categories get relaxation as per rules. The counting date differs by post, so please confirm yours in the advertisement.
Selection Process and Merit
Candidates are shortlisted on merit using their normalised PET 2025 score. Only those shortlisted can sit the main exam. Anyone with a zero or negative PET score is not shortlisted.
How to Apply
- Open the Live Advertisement Segment on upsssc.gov.in.
- Log in with your PET 2025 registration number and the OTP.
- Select each post you want, as unselected posts are not considered.
- Pay the fee, then submit and print your form.
Your PET photo and signature appear automatically and cannot be changed here. Apply only once.
Fee Adjustment Matters
Your form cannot be printed until the bank has adjusted your fee. UPSSSC says this must be done by 25 November, or at the latest within seven days, by 2 December. If your status shows Pending, the Applicant Segment has an Update Your Transaction ID by Double Verification option. Please pay early, so you have time to fix any failed payment.
EWS and Reservation Certificates
EWS applicants need a certificate issued between 1 April 2026 and 25 November 2026, based on income for 2025-26. Reservation and age relaxation certificates must be issued by the last date. Women from Uttar Pradesh should note that a caste certificate from the father’s side is the one accepted.
Common Mistakes
- Applying without the PET 2025 registration number at hand.
- Forgetting to select all the posts you want.
- Assuming your post choice can wait. Preference is taken at document checking.
