Post-wise and Category-wise Vacancy

There is one Platform & Security Engineer post, and no category-wise split.

Educational Qualification

A Bachelor’s degree in any discipline, with 6+ years in infrastructure or platform engineering with a strong security focus. Experience running production microservice fleets is preferred.

Required Skills

Area Details
Cloud Private, sovereign or government cloud on VMware, OpenStack or KVM, and Kubernetes
Data Systems Self-managed PostgreSQL with HA and replication, Redis, Apache Kafka
Basics Strong Linux and networking
Automation Terraform, Ansible, backup and DR tools
Monitoring Prometheus, Grafana, ELK
Security Key management, secrets custody, STQC and DPDP infrastructure controls, data residency

The word “hosting-agnostic” in the advertisement means the system should not depend on a specific public cloud provider’s managed services. This is a big point for candidates who have only worked on AWS, Azure or GCP managed tools.

Duties of the Post

  • Set up and run compute, networks, firewalls, TLS, DNS and separate development, staging and production environments
  • Manage PostgreSQL 16 with one database per service, along with Redis and a multi-broker Kafka cluster
  • Take charge of uptime, monitoring, alerts and capacity across about 20 services
  • Protect and back up the audit store
  • Own backup and disaster recovery, with restore drills and RPO and RTO targets
  • Harden infrastructure, control access, and manage signing and encryption keys
  • Set the production layout and scaling plan, working with DevSecOps and AppSec colleagues

RPO and RTO are two disaster recovery measures. They show how much data can be lost, and how quickly a system must be back.

Salary and Pay Scale

The advertisement gives no figure. Pay is consolidated, and depends on qualifications and experience within project norms.

DIC shortlists through an objective matrix of education, experience, domain expertise, certifications, publications and other approved criteria. Higher thresholds may be fixed. Only those shortlisted get an interview before the Selection Committee.
