Educational Qualification and Experience
- A graduate or postgraduate degree in Mass Communication, Journalism, Public Relations, Advertising, English Literature or a related subject.
- At least 3 years of relevant work in public relations, corporate communications, a media house or a PR agency.
- Proven work in news publications, media relations, content writing, social media and institutional or corporate communications.
Job Responsibilities
The PR Executive will help plan and run media outreach and communication work to build IIMK’s public image. Main tasks include:
- Writing and sending press releases, media briefs and replies to media questions
- Arranging interviews and press meets, and tracking media coverage
- Writing and editing articles, newsletters, website content and event briefs
- Finding stories on the institute’s research, events and achievements
- Posting on IIMK’s website and social media, including LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram and X
- Supporting digital campaigns and preparing performance reports
- Coordinating communication for institute events and keeping records
Skills Required
Strong English writing, editing and speaking skills are a must. IIMK also wants a good grasp of media relations and news values, social media and editing tools, research and storytelling ability, and comfort with MS Office and content management systems.
Salary and Pay Scale
The consolidated pay is Rs. 40,000 to Rs. 45,000 per month. The contract is for one year. Any extension will depend on performance and administrative needs.
