Typing Test Rules
The typing test is a qualifying stage. You must clear it to stay in the selection process, but clearing the Mains alone does not confirm selection.
| Language | Minimum Speed |
|---|---|
| Hindi | 25 words per minute |
| English | 30 words per minute |
The test is computer-based. For Hindi, candidates can use the Mangal font (Inscript) or Kruti Dev 010. You must clear both the Hindi and English tests. The exact error rules are given in the official notice, so read them before the test.
How to Prepare Before the Test
You have about 10 days before the first shift. Use them well:
- Practise daily on a computer: Type for at least one hour a day in both Hindi and English. Use the same keyboard layout you will use in the test.
- Pick one Hindi font and stick to it: If you type in Inscript, practise only Mangal. If you know Remington layout, practise Kruti Dev 010.
- Focus on accuracy first: Speed grows with practice, but too many mistakes can cost you the test.
- Take timed tests: Set a timer and check your words per minute after each round.
Important Exam-Day Instructions
- Carry a printed copy of your typing test admit card.
- Carry an original, valid photo ID such as an Aadhaar card, voter ID or driving licence.
- Reach the centre well before the reporting time printed on your admit card. Late entry is not allowed after the gate closes.
- Follow every instruction printed on the admit card.
Problems While Downloading the Admit Card
- Forgot registration number: Check the email or SMS you got when you applied for 12-Exam/2024.
- Page not loading: The site gets heavy traffic. Try again early in the morning or late at night.
- Wrong details on the card: Contact UPSSSC at once with a copy of your application form.
