Place of Work Posts

No category-wise split is given. The application form does ask for your category (OC, OBC, SC or ST). The High Court may increase or reduce vacancies, or cancel the notification.

Educational Qualification

Candidates need a Law Degree from a recognised university, through either route:

  • A 5-year regular law course after 10+2
  • A 3-year regular law degree, after 10+2 and a 3-year regular degree course

Eligibility Criteria

Three more conditions need careful attention:

  • Recent graduates only: the Law Degree must have been passed within two years immediately before the date of the notification, which is 27 October 2026.
  • No other commitment: you must not be pursuing another course, profession or occupation that would keep you away from work during the engagement.
  • Legal research skills: you must know how to find information using computers and databases such as Manupatra, SCC Online, LexisNexis and Westlaw.

You must also be a citizen of India. Enrolment as an advocate is not stated as a must in the eligibility list, but the documents list mentions an enrolment certificate. The form also asks for Bar Council details if enrolled. If you are not enrolled, ask the Registry how to deal with this.

Salary and Pay Scale

The corrigendum states that the monthly remuneration is Rs. 50,000, as per G.O.Rt.No.1554, Finance (HRM.VII) Department, dated 8 August 2026. All other conditions in the notification remain the same. It is a fixed monthly contract payment, and no pay level is mentioned.

Selection Process and Exam Pattern

The notification does not describe a written test, an interview or a marks formula. It refers to Guidelines framed by the High Court, notified in G.O.Ms.No.45 of 15 June 2017 and later amendments. The form asks for your percentage of marks in the Law Degree, so marks may be looked at. Please treat that as our reading and not as a stated rule.

How to Apply

  1. Download the prescribed proforma from the High Court website.
  2. Fill it in, and paste a latest passport-size photo attested by a Gazetted Officer or Law College Principal.
  3. Attach copies of SSC, Intermediate, Degree, LLB and Enrolment Certificates, attested by a Gazetted Officer.
  4. Add your email ID, contact number and a valid government ID proof.
  5. Write “Application for the post of Research Assistants (Law)” on the envelope.
  6. Send it by registered post with acknowledgement due to the Registrar General, High Court for the State of Telangana.

How to Check the Two-Year Rule

The notification is dated 27 October 2026. A candidate should have passed the Law Degree within the two years immediately before this date. Passing in 2025 or 2026 falls inside this window. Those who passed around October 2024 should check their exact date on the provisional certificate or marks memo, and contact the Registry if it is close.

The High Court for the State of Telangana has functioned as a separate High Court since January 2019, and sits at Hyderabad. The two Academy posts are at Secunderabad, so candidates should note the place of work when they plan for the job.
